Brett Mendell, Managing Director of Manchester-based textile provider Thomas Kneale, has recently been awarded an MBE for Sustainability and Leadership in recognition of his and the organisation’s commitment to environmental development, carbon reduction and their advocacy work with the Living Wage Foundation for employers to provide fair pay and secure working hours.

Brett and Thomas Kneale have been working with Green Economy since attending our Journey to Net Zero course in 2021. “We knew it was the perfect fit for us,” explains Brett. “The programme provided us with information on Net Zero jargon, actions we could take, and how to measure and report our progress. The programme enabled us to achieve all of these goals.”

Thomas Kneale are no stranger to accolades, having been presented with the King’s Award for Enterprise in 2023, showcasing the benefits of continuous engagement with sustainability goals. You can read more about the organisation’s work with Green Economy here.
