A Salford-based EV firm grew their market presence in Greater Manchester through networking and Green Economy support.

Teltonika UK, manufacturers of EV and telematic products, approached the Green Economy team in August 2024 for support growing their market presence in Greater Manchester. They were partnered with Green Technologies Consultant, Ashley Hulme, who conducted a diagnostic to identify Teltonika’s key growth opportunities.

“The first step was to create a free profile on Green Economy’s Marketplace so they could be found directly by potential clients seeking EV technology,” Ash explains. “I then provided a horizon scan and competitor analysis for the EV market which helped them to understand the size of the market in the UK and at a local level.

The competitor analysis provided Teltonika with an understanding of other manufacturers, how they market themselves, and what their target market is. We were then able to look at how they could position themselves, some of the policies that should be in place, and the awards and partners they should consider.”

To boost their market presence, Teltonika UK were invited to present at Green Economy’s member networking events, helping them to showcase their offering to relevant industry professionals to tee up future collaboration opportunities.

New products, new people, new policies

Teltonika moved into Greater Manchester in 2024 and are committed to growing here. With Green Economy’s support and some key introductions, Teltonika have explored new market opportunities and gained confidence, leading them to an increase in their headcount to support their growth ambitions.

Having recently developed a new Health product, Ash connected the business to support from GM Business Growth Hub’s Health and Life Sciences team to help them develop the new health device.

"I also encouraged the business to cement their own sustainability credentials, and they worked with our Sustainability and Net Zero Consultants to develop their environmental and net zero policies,” Ash adds.

Speaking of the support, Ciaran Harkin, chief executive of Teltonika UK, said:

“Working with Green Economy has been so helpful to progress our growth journey. They are so well connected and can bring in other partners at the right moment to drive specific activities.”
