A new campaign is underway to support businesses looking to switch their fleets to electric vehicles, including a mapping tool that helps firms understand the incentives in place in different areas.

The Go Ultra Low Fleet campaign, supported by the Energy Saving Trust, supports government initiatives to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles by providing all the facts and information businesses need to make an informed decision about going electric.

As part of the campaign, the Energy Saving Trust will be producing case studies and webinars, as well as providing dedicated fleet support.

The campaign features a new ‘EV incentives mapping tool’, which allows users to see what incentives exist in their local area such as parking discounts, driving in bus lanes and the number of charge points available. The tool also shows the number of electric vehicles already registered in each area.

Other tools in place include an interactive charging map, a vehicle finder tool to help firms identify the right vehicle for them, a car tax calculator, a journey cost savings calculator and journey range calculator.

North West leading the charge

The campaign comes shortly after new research from Siemens showed that more than a third of UK motorists now plan to buy a hybrid or electric vehicles as their next car.

While London has the highest percentage of motorists already owning a hybrid or electric vehicle, it was respondents in the North West who showed the most desire to switch - with more than two-fifths saying they were planning to buy electric or hybrid in their next purchase.
